Who We Are

TK Fundraising Productions-Dancing for a Cure!, one of the volunteer groups in San Francisco- was formed in April 2006 to stage high-quality cultural and artistic fundraising events for non-profit anti-cancer organizations.

Founders

Tomoko Ozawa, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Ozawa received her M.D. and Ph.D. degrees, and practiced as a neurosurgeon at the St. Marianna University Hospital in Japan until moving to San Francisco to study the cause and treatment of brain tumors in the Brain Tumor Research Center at UC Medical Center. Since 1994, Dr. Ozawa has dedicated her professional training and efforts to identifying new therapies for improved outcomes for brain tumor patients. Dr. Ozawa is extensively published in leading scientific journals, and is considered an authority on pre-clinical testing of anti-cancer agents. She is a member of American Association for Cancer Research, the Society for Neuro-Oncology, and the Japanese Congress of Neurological Surgeons.

Kumiko Dews

Ms. Dews holds a degree in design and worked in commercial design in Japan before moving to the U.S. Her projects since coming to the U.S. have ranged from creating and showing "Togei" Japanese pottery in galleries, to residential interior design and renovation. Since developing a passion for flamenco dance, Ms. Dews has also studied ballet, salsa and jazz dance. She has performed flamenco dance in numerous events.
